150 Years: SBCBA’s Historic Anniversary in 2025

On Thursday, December 11, 2025, the San Bernardino County Bar Association (SBCBA) marked an incredible milestone—its 150th Anniversary! Founded on the same date in 1875, the SBCBA is the oldest continuously active bar association in California, and we are thrilled to celebrate this rich history with our members, the legal community, and the broader public throughout the coming year.

The special Gala event held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Ontario, took place on the exact anniversary of the bar’s founding and was an evening to remember, with distinguished guests, live entertainment, and a look back at our history. Click for photos.

A Year to Remember

Throughout 2025, the San Bernardino County Bar Association has marked this extraordinary milestone with a series of memorable events: Bowlero in January, the Access to Justice Gala in February, Top Golf in April, Kaufman Campbell in May, a Meet & Greet at Victor Valley College, the 66ers Game in June, Redlands Bowl in July, Night at the Museum and Golf Tournament in August, Casino Night in October, and Shapiro’s Garage in November.

Each event brought our legal community closer together—judges, attorneys, officials, and supporters—all building momentum toward the culminating Gala.

This Past Year of Celebration…

The 150th Anniversary celebrations kicked off in January 2025 with a fabulous inaugural Bowling Night - which was such a hit, it will now be an annual event. Photos on the slideshow below!

The monthly events continued with February’s Access to Justice Awards, presented by the Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino - click slideshow below to see photos.

April 10th offered an exciting night at Top Golf in Ontario. Check out the photos below.

May was a busy month! The Annual Kaufman Campbell Awards Banquet, honoring two excellent bench officers, Judge Donald Alvarez and Judge Gilbert Ochoa, was held on May 8 at the Mitten from 5p to 9p. It was a great event! Photos are available now on the Kaufman Campbell page.

The High Desert Bar Association hosted a special event at Victor Valley College on Thursday, May 29th.
What a fun event! Nearly 40 attorneys, judges, professors and students gathered to network, and enjoy appetizers and refreshments. Photos available soon.

“A Night with the 66ers” Baseball Event on June 12th at San Manuel Stadium was a huge success - thank you to all of our sponsors and our amazing guests! Photos posted here!

Our July event featured an unforgettable evening at the historic Redlands Bowl, located in the heart of Redlands, where attendees enjoyed the “The Pack Drumline” show right from the Mission Gables house. Light Italian style buffet and drinks by Russo’s Italian Restaurant was excellent, as usual. Photos here!

The August 14th event was remarkable! “A Night at the Museum” featured a mixer with hot appetizers and wine at our beautiful San Bernardino County Museum, on Orange Tree Lane in Redlands. Our Bar Historian, Michael Reiter, gave us a condensed but rich history of our county, our legal community, and our bar association. We had a healthy crowd of 42 join us for food, a history lesson and a tour of the facility. Photos posted HERE.

Forty eight golfers joined us for a full day of fun and golf at the beautiful Redlands Country Club for our 25th Annual Bench-Bar Golf Tournament on Monday, August 25, 2025. a packed social hour & fun trophy presentations followed at the club house, along with a delicious buffet and a raucous raffle! Our October 9 event was a combination education & fun: An abbreviated Probate/ Family Law Symposium featuring a panel of judges, followed by the event you’ve waited for: Casino Royale Night! It turned out to be an amazing evening! CLICK HERE TO SEE PHOTOS!

On November 13th, our legal community gathered at SHAPIRO’S GARAGE for a wonderfully relaxed evening of food, drinks, and camaraderie.
