150 Years: SBCBA’s Historic Anniversary in 2025

On December 11, 2025, the San Bernardino County Bar Association (SBCBA) will mark an incredible milestone—its 150th Anniversary!

Founded on December 11, 1875, the SBCBA is the oldest continuously active bar association in California, and we are thrilled to celebrate this rich history with our members, the legal community, and the broader public throughout the coming year.

COMING UP… Continuing a Year of Celebration

LET’S PLAY BALL!! We will celebrate A Night with the 66ers Baseball Event on June 12th at San Manuel Stadium (details on our Baseball page). There are only a couple of seats left so don’t wait!

Our July event is still in the planning stage and we will update you as soon as possible.

The August 14th event is ready to go! “A Night at the Museum” will feature a mixer with hot appetizers and wine tasting at our beautiful San Bernardino County Museum, on Orange Tree Lane in Redlands. We will have a special speaker outlining the rich history of our county, our legal community, and our bar association. Tickets are $35, starts at 5:30p.

Our October event will be combination education & fun: An abbreviated Probate/Family Law Symposium featuring a panel of judges, followed by the event you’ve waited for: Casino Royale Night! Preparations are in progress for an amazing evening, so watch for your invitation.

November has top sponsor and long-time SBCBA friend Bill Shapiro hosting a special night at his “Garage,” in San Bernardino. “A Toast to Court Street West” has many surprises in store. Watch for details.

The Gala

The special Gala event on December 11, 2025, held the DoubleTree by Hilton in Ontario, will take place on the exact anniversary of the SBCBA’s founding and will be an evening to remember, with distinguished guests, live entertainment, and a look back at our long history. Mark your calendar!

This Past Year of Celebration - What has happened so far…

The 150th Anniversary celebrations kicked off in January 2025 with a fabulous inaugural Bowling Night - which was such a hit, it will now be an annual event. Photos on the slideshow below!

The monthly events continued with February’s Access to Justice Awards, presented by the Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino - click slideshow below to see photos.

May has been a busy month!

The Annual Kaufman Campbell Awards Banquet, honoring two excellent bench officers, Judge Donald Alvarez and Judge Gilbert Ochoa, was held on May 8 at the Mitten from 5p to 9p. It was a great event! Photos are available now on the Kaufman Campbell page.

The High Desert Bar Association hosted a special event at Victor Valley College on Thursday, May 29th.
What a fun event! Nearly 40 attorneys, judges, professors and students gathered to network, and enjoy appetizers and refreshments. Photos available soon.
