"Recognizing Implicit Bias and Its Relevance in RJA Litigation”
This training combines recognizing implicit bias and how that interplays with the RJA.
This is a general training for all attorneys - not just defense oriented. DA's are welcome!

Office of the San Bernardino County Public Defender
Colleen Bazdarich is the Racial Justice Act Attorney for the San Bernardino Public Defender’s Officer. As the RJA attorney, Colleen advises office attorneys on RJA litigation and also files habeas petitions for incarcerated people from our county who are seeking postconviction relief in the superior court, the Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court. She worked briefly in private practice after graduating from Berkeley Law School, and joined the Office in 2016. Prior to becoming the RJA attorney, Colleen worked in misdemeanor, felony and civil commitment trial practice. She provides training to the office on the Racial Justice Act and recognizing explicit and implicit bias in the courtroom.
MCLE: San Bernardino County Bar Association, California State Bar-approved MCLE provider #2813, certifies that this activity is approved for 1.0 hour of Implicit Bias MCLE Credit by the California State Bar.

New State Bar CLE Requirements for Tech, Civility, Optional Wellness
Rule 2.72 of the Rules of the State Bar has been revised to increase required hours for the Competence requirement and to add new requirements for Technology and Civility. These changes will be effective starting with the 1/31/2025 compliance period.
• (Updated) Competence - A minimum of two hours of CLE is now required addressing competence, with at least one hour dedicated to prevention and detection. There is also an optional one hour Wellness Competence requirement.
• (New) Technology - At least one hour of CLE is now required, focusing on the role of technology in the practice of law.
• (New) Civility - At least one hour of CLE is now required, addressing civility in the legal profession. es will be effective starting with the 1/31/2025 compliance period.
